Angels are real

Angels are everywhere.
Good and bad,
black, white,
dark, light.
Don't let the dark ones in.
They work for he-who-must-not-be-let-in.
Don't try to talk to those who've passed on
because even the unnamed one
knows the past
and wants to fool us
so he can gain our trust and soul.
I used to use my prophetic gifts
for the bad.
But that just made it bad for me,
opening a portal that should never be.
Tarot cards are a myth,
the black hole is an abyss.
If you want to know something
all you have to do
is ask the one who is in control.
God knows and He cares,
but some times the answer to our prayers
just may be a simple no
because God doesn't want to upset us
and knowing the future may very well do this.
Especially if you aren't prepared.
Yes, I get prophetic dreams,
but don't wish you could get these
because, trust me in this,
they are not a fun thing.
They are scary and dark,
fearful and stark,
hard to interpret,
impossible most times to understand.
Just be grateful
that you have a God who loves you
and has your best interests at heart.
I've seen angels,
both dark and light,
and because I've asked for the blood of Jesus
to be spread around our home,
the dark angels and there boss
have no choice in going
back where they belong.
(A very bad place.)
Sing a praise song,
and the dark angels will run along
because they are, simply put,
cowards one and all.

The answer is a simple one (RVD)

Maybe I'm just a simple person,
raised in a simple world,
bruised and battered,
but some day soon that will no longer matter,
except for those who have to answer.
But this one thing I know,
even though I'm unable to show and can only say
that Jesus is the only way.
He is God's son,
the only one,
the bridge,
our advocate.
He sits at God's right side
and pleads our case day and night.
We can be the best person in the world,
but that won't ever be enough.
We must without hesitation
open our hearts and invite Jesus in.
He won't come if we don't want him to.
He won't force his way in.
If we don't want him here and now
on this side,
why would He invite us
to spend an eternity by HIS side?
I know the pc thing today
is to say
that there are other ways.
But there aren't.
And I'm not sorry to say
that there never will be.
Works won't do it,
only faith that the living God
sent His son
so we could be forgiven.
"Forgiven for what?" you may ask.
You may think you've done nothing wrong.
But the Word of God is very clear in this;
that we are all born into sin.
I've been told before
that I only see in black and white,
and I guess that's a good thing
when heaven is in sight.
There is no gray area where eternity is concerned.
Jesus died, then He rose and went down to get the keys
so that you and me
could live for eternity.
Forever and ever lying in the light
created by His brightness.
What other way
would you want to spend
in a Garden where there is no end,
with love to spare,
no cares,
no pain,
no more tears to collect,
no fears.
That's a rhetorical question.
And here's something you don't know -
Even to this day,
I'm scared of the dark
because I know
what lurks in the corner shadows.
But Jesus' light
will shine so brightly
that absolutely nothing will be able to hide.
They will be too scared,
and they won't be allowed.
And that alone
brings me peace
down into my little girl soul.
I just want to go home.
Pretty please.

I'm a jerk

When exactly did Christians
become ashamed to say
that Jesus is the only way?
He is the bridge.
He spread his arms wide,
and then he bled,
sacrificed and died.
But he rose again
so we could live eternally with Him.
If this makes me a jerk,
then I'll gladly admit
that I believe God sent His son
and that's the way it is.
I'm not afraid,
I'm not ashamed.
Jesus is the one and only bridge,
and that's the way it will always stay.

The little church mouse

Crooked smile,
Freckled face,
Sparkling green eyes,
Dimpled cheeks.
Just a sweet little girl
trying hard to hide the tears.
Hoping against hope that someone would find out
and do something about the fears.
She tried to hold it together
by her sunshiny disposition.
But all that really did
was put her in a precarious position.
They would take her to church and Sunday School
and teach her about Jesus and all of His rules.
But the rest of the week she'd have to put up with all of the screaming about absolutely nothing.
Everyone knew.  How could they not with all of the yelling and fuss?
But her sister was sick, so that was there excuse
for all of the what is now called abuse.
But back then they just did what they believed the Bible said.
And now I'm afraid of the slightest noise, any yelling, and let's not even mention confrontation.
I do have an opinion, and that's why I write, because to speak out of turn would give me quite a fright.
Just call me the little church mouse who lives in her quiet little house.
Shhh.  No shouting allowed.

Is this why?

If you haven't suffered,
how can you empathize?
If you haven't been belittled,
how can you sympathize?
If you haven't felt excruciating pain,
how can you encourage others who've felt the same?
If you haven't been discouraged
by those that should have shown you love,
how can you lead them to Jesus,
the only one who knows true love?
Is this why I've been put here,
to help others through the horrible pain
of being made to feel invisible
then brought out only when it's time to explain?
Will I reap the rewards promised to me?
Is there streets of gold waiting?
But, to be honest with you,
all I really care about
is sitting at my Lord and Savior's feet.
I look into the sunset,
and all I see is His face.

Family

Middle of the night.
All I can think of
is have I done enough?
And the answer is always no.
I could be doing so much more.
So I write and pray
that someone somewhere
will be touched by what I have to say.
You are not worthless, you have a name,
nothing you can do could ever make God ashamed.
Jesus loves you more than you could ever know.
Even if you've been abandoned by your family,
Jesus will never ever let you go.
You have a place.
You have a home.
You have a family.
Me.

This is what I want

I hear you from the pulpit,
saying things I don't understand
and dressed like you're headed for the sand,
making up jokes along the way
as if that was the most important thing to say.
When did it become okay
to say derogatory things
about other denominations,
as if they were a joke
and you had the only answer?
When did it become okay
to stand on holy ground
dressed like a clown?
Am I just getting old
and don't understand
that it's passe to not give alter calls
or lay hands on the sick, praying for a miracle?
Have we forgotten that Jesus is the same today
as He was yesterday?
I need a miracle.
I need to be anointed with oil.
Is it too much to ask
to go back to the old ways?
To pray for the sick
and to have some respect?
Whatever happened to communion?
Is that, too, a thing of the past?
Are we experiencing itching ear syndrome,
just giving them what they want?
I'm not afraid to tell others that Jesus is the only way.
I've lost family over it, but aren't souls worth more than that?
I want to plant seeds,
I want to shine my light,
I want to spread the glorious word
that Jesus, God's only son, sacrificed His life.
He shed his blood.
We are loved.
AND I'M PROUD
TO BE A FOOL
FOR JESUS!
