Forgiveness (RVD)

Your family on this place
we call earth
will disappoint,
will let you down,
will frown upon your life.
But your Father in heaven
can never be ashamed of you
no matter what you do.
If God actually knows
the number of hairs on your head
and has collected all of your tears,
how can He reject you or anything you do?Don't give up on life
or what you are destined to do.
Love the Lord with all of your heart
and try to forget the sins
of your father
or your mother
or whomever.
I myself was abandoned and abused,
but here I stand,
upon the rock,
alive and well
and bursting to tell
the entire world
or anyone who will listen
of the agape love of our Lord.

Pain again

I dearly wanted to go to church today,
but the debilitating pain kept me sadly away.
What am I to do Lord with this pain?
Live with it forever?
I know you suffered, but why do I?
I hate to admit it but sometimes I'd like to be
like Elijah and fly up to the sky,
be in your arms and have no more pain.
Can I do that Lord and do the same?

Elijah up into a whirlwind...

Just as you are (revised)

It's one in the morning.
I'm in pain.
And it seems if no one cares.
My husband lies behind me,
And my dog and my cat
snuggle close to me,
but they're sleeping
so quietly.
But here I am, awakened by the pain.
Will it ever go away, Lord?
Will it ever subside?
Or is to be the thorn in my side?
Does anyone understand
the constant pain I am in?
There are days I cannot even walk,
bent over
as if I was
10,000 years old.
Poor me, I say to myself,
trying to be reminded of the
terrifying pain
Christ went through for me
and for you.
He was dressed in swaddling clothes
the minute he was born.
So he knew he was meant to sacrifice
his life for the unknown.
Did he know me over a thousand years ago
all the suffering I would endure?
Is my suffering just a way
to draw me closer to Jesus,
or a way to make me pay?
No, it's not all my fault,
I constantly have to remind myself.
I'm washed in the blood,
washed clean by the crimson flood.
But then why must endure
the midnights I am awakened by the pain?
No amount of medicine can alieve
what I go through.
It's is definitely never what
I would choose for myself,
let alone anyone else.
But if my suffering
draws me closer to my King
and can possibly help
someone who suffers too
and has no one to turn to,
then all the suffering and pain
will be worth it in the end
if I'm able to plant a seed of hope
in the lonely and helpless and hopeless
and those who feel all alone.
Your are not alone.
I am here to let you
know what I've been through,
and that there are others
who feel what you feel.
Don't give up, I beg you.
For Jesus gave his life
for little old me and for you.
Not the strong of this world,
but the broken and week
to shame the strong and the proud.
He loves us just as we are,
lonely and unloved,
looking for someone who understands
what it's like to suffer alone.
Yesterday I could not walk.
But I know my Savior will heal me eventually,
even if it takes to the end of days.
In heaven I shall be whole again,
a child playing in a field of flowers,
sitting at my Lord's feet,
listening with awe
at his beautiful stories.
I long for that day
when the suffering is at bay,
the loneliness over and done,
finished forever,
in my sweet Lord Jesus' arms.
And I shall live forever with Him
and all of my loved ones.
So I am begging you
to please don't give up,
please don't give in.
There is grace in your pain and suffering.
There is grace in all of our sins.
For Jesus sees it all
and you will be rewarded
if you can just hang in til the end.
Jesus has not come for the strong,
but for the broken such as you and me.
Don't ever believe otherwise,
for He love us just as we are,
alone and lonely,
a broken sunshine.

Refuse

Jerks abound
in this place we call home.
People out to break your heart
no matter the consequences,
circumstances.
The Good Word says
to guard your heart,
but I'm still confused
as to how to do
just that.
How do you keep
and unsuspecting fool
from getting into your soul?
I suppose Jesus is the only answer,
the guard of my heart,
the one who has the potential
to keep all the filfth from this earth
affecting my soul,
trashing my heart,
making me a part of their compulsion
to ruin
the pure,
the sure,
the saved,
the one's who are not praved.
I refuse to give in
to the sin.

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.

Rock

my heart is broken
my daughter hates me
we used to be best friends
what happened?
I divorced her cheating father
yet she treats him like a saint
and walks all over my broken heart
If I didn't have the Lord
I don't know where I would stand
but here I stand
upon the rock
and here I shall be
if you look for me
Upon this rock
I shall stand.

Persevere (more)

You have a love child
with someone half your age,
then our daughter doesn't speak to me
for about a decade.
And I'm the one who suffers.
How is that fair?
The world has been turned upside down.
That which was once not acceptable
seems to be the norm.
I am a child of  the Lord,
a God-fearing woman, I pray.
Yet here I am
being treated

as if everything were my fault,
and you've done nothing wrong,
apparently you're okay.
But I know that in the end
we all will be judged,
not for what we've accumulated
or accomplished
or done.
but instead for whom we've touched,
told about the gospel.
Eternity awaits.
What will you say
when you stand before the King?
I've been telling you forever
how Jesus Christ
can change your life
and give you
eternity.
Life here in earth
will be the hardest to sustain.
But if you persevere
in the face of the unfair
there will be a reward
that will make everything clear
and you will be able to see
through a glass darkly
when we finally stand before the one and only King.

Stand proud

You speak your mind,
let your mouth ramble,
never thinking of me
or the damage your words will cause.
I thought you were aware that all of my life
I've been called any hurtful word that comes to mind.
No matter the compliments.
You have me raised to be convinced
that such nonsense is only meant for wimps.
Stop being so sensitive,
for kind words are only
for those who cannot handle the pain
of humanity.
That's what you tell me.
I call that blasphemy,
for Jesus commands us
to love the downtrodden and the broken,
the weak of heart and the sick.
So why
try
to break me
with your insensitivity,
insanity.
I am a child of God,
proud to call myself
a daughter of the King.
So here I will stand,
hateful words withstanding,
holding onto the Love
that only God can give me.
I am a child of the King
and forever I shall stand.
