Forty Days (updated with scripture)

Jesus fasted for forty days

and prayed.

God asks us to fast.

It's not an easy thing to do

when all kinds of temptations surround you.

But you don't have to stop eating completely.

Just give up that one thing that you find the most difficult to resist

and I promise you this:

you will be blessed.

I must confess,

though,

you will be attacked,

because whether you believe it or not,

the devil roams the earth
like a roaring lion,

looking to destroy and kill

the ones that are willing

to live for the Lord.

But we who believe

are protected by our King,

so there's no need to fear,

even when we're thrown into the lion's lair.

If you have never fasted,

I would ask

that you try it for just one day,

and don't forget the most important thing:

pray.
