Anything is Possible Through Christ Jesus (UPDATED)

He was the runt,

the smallest of the litter.

All of his brothers were much bigger.

He tended the sheep.

That's all he wanted to do.

He felt that was his calling,

all that he was capable of doing,

why he was born.

Never in his wildest dreams did he think

he would be a part of history,

much less a prophet or a king.

But there they were,

the elders of the village,

searching for someone special.

His father brought forth his siblings,

and told the men

to take one of them.

But they rejected all of the others

and looked to him

and, surprisingly, 

said he was the one.

So, reluctantly, he left his flock

and his family,

never thinking he would one day

slay a giant

much less become a king.

What does that say

for you and for me?

Encouraging to think

that we can be anything
that God wants us to be.
Anything.
