DADDY

WHY HAVEN'T THESE LITTLE GIRL THOUGHTS
LEFT ME YET?
HOW CAN I STILL FEEL
INVISIBLE?
I'VE KNOCKED ON DOORS,
I'VE TESTIFIED IN YOUR NAME.
HAVE I MADE A DIFFERENCE,
HAVE I HELPED ANYONE?
SHOULD I CONTINUE TO WRITE
ABOUT THE CRUELTY I ENDURED?
THEY WILL NEVER ADMIT IT,
BUT IT HAPPENED.
IF YOU COULD SEE THE SCARS
IN MY HEART
YOU WOULD KNOW
HOW BAD IT REALLY WAS.
I JUST CAN'T SEEM TO GET PAST THE WRONGS
THAT WERE DRILLED INTO ME.
WASH ME CLEAN, LORD,
WITH YOUR BLOOD.
MAKE ME PART OF YOUR FAMILY.
BE MY DADDY.
PLEASE.

PSALM 68:5

A FATHER TO THE FATHERLESS,
A DEFENDER OF WIDOWS
IS GOD IN HIS HOLY DWELLING.
