Fly your flag freely

Some days like today
I find my love for you
so hard to put into words.
How can you speak
of that kind of love?
Love that would take
a beaten down child
and turn her into
His own.
Give her a purpose.
He took his clay
and reshaped her that day
she wanted to go to the alter to pray.
Her mother wouldn't let her,
so Jesus sat down right beside,
put his loving arms around her,
and walked right in
to her open damaged heart.
She just wanted so very much to be loved,
to be noticed for the right reasons
rather than the wrong.
She tried so very hard every single day
to be the way
they wanted her to be.
But being six inches taller
than everyone else
certainly didn't help.
And she had the unfortunate genes of her
not-so-liked father.
Which they still blame her for.
But sixty years later
she finally gave up
and decided to be herself,
to fly her "I LOVE JESUS" flag freely
and to tell the world
how very much they are loved.

ROMANS 8:38-39

FOR I AM CONVINCED THAT NEITHER DEATH NOR LIFE,
NEITHER ANGELS NOR DEMONS,
NEITHER THE PRESENT NOR THE FUTURE,
NOR ANY POWERS,
NEITHER HEIGHT NOR DEPTH,
NOR ANYTHING ELSE IN ALL CREATION
WILL BE ABLE TO SEPARATE US
FROM THE LOVE OF GOD
IN CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD
