Drifting In (revised)

You can't drift into heaven
just on a whim.
There are sacrifices to be made,
time to be paid -
reading your Bible,
stretching out your hand to help the widows and orphans,
and those of us
who are less fortunate,
like the man on the street
holding up a sign that says he'd work to eat.
Your pretty words won't get you
into the doors.
Neither will your works
or your poor attitude.
Asking God for forgiveness of your sins
and turning your heart over to Him
is the only way to get in.
Jesus is the bridge.
Can't you hear that celestial choir
singing praises every second of every day,
 of every hour,
for eternity?
That's what you win
if you don't drift in.

Revelation 4:8
Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never stop saying: “‘Holyholyholy is the Lord God Almighty,’ who wasand isand is to come.”
