Trust

Trusting is not an easy thing
when one of your earliest memories
is coming home,
seeing open boxes everywhere
and not knowing if your father was staying there
or going someplace else,
escaping
from the chains,
needing to be set free.
Saying that my childhood was unstable
is greatly understating,
picturing a little girl waiting and waiting
for her daddy to come back home,
sure she had done something wrong
because they told her so.
But now I've been born again,
I have a new life.
I'm a wife
to a godly man
who understands
what it's like to be falsely accused,
battered and bruised.
Stepping out in faith
into the unknown
is impossible to accomplish on your own.
You need Jesus by your side,
guiding you through life.
Let Him make the choices,
because He is the only one who knows
what lies on the road ahead.
He'll pick you up when you fall
carry you when there's no strength left, none at all.
Follow His light,
lean towards the right,
trust in Him
and His sight.

Proverbs 3:5-6 - Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
